FRANCE | CHAMPAGNE
Just like the world, Augustin Champagnes are made up of four elements.
Marc has inherited a precious legacy: A love of life in all its many manifestations.
He shares these values with his wife Emmanuelle. Emmanuelle drew her inspiration for the concept behind their cuvées from the principles of biodynamics. She is responsible for creating the ethos and image of the Champagne Augustin range.
Marc invented the concept of cœurviculture – winemaking with a heart – which encapsulates a family philosophy built on consistent values and staying true to oneself. Marc and Emmanuelle are passionate about their craft. They are imbued with great sensitivity and develop and apply this ethos every day as they tap into the promptings of nature and its needs.
With their combined training, reading, and above all their interaction with like-minded individuals have persuaded them of the merits of the contemporary biodynamic approach. A respect for the living world through biodynamics is more than just a method for them, it is a philosophy of life. The identity, names, colours, and materials are all designed to work in harmony with the philosophy of the champagne house.
Champagne Augustin wines are the fruit of a strongly-held belief: “The World is a single entity and every action generates a reaction. Let’s choose positive actions which promote harmony”.
Every player in the “Augustin Saga” has made bold choices which have occasionally disconcerted their contemporaries.
These choices were born of an awareness of the value of their legacy and a desire for continuous improvement. These inspired ideas proved to be visionary and bore fruit on every occasion. Now it is the turn of Emmanuelle and Marc to nurture this spirit of openness and a commitment to passing on their skills.
