▸ 90 Points – James Suckling (Nov 2024)

“This opens up with aromas of elderberries, graphite, cedar and smoke. On the palate it delivers succulent, upfront, dark fruit flavors paired with sinewy, expansive tannins that gradually mellow. Drink now.” – Jacobo Garcia
Andrade Llamas (Nov 2024)

LISTED | Vintage 2022

▸ Produced from Cesanese, a indigenous grape of Italy, this wine is deep ruby red with intense aromas of marasca cherry followed by spicy notes of white-, black-pepper and violet. ▸ On the palate, it is soft, smooth, and well-balanced with persistent tannins and pronounced acidity, essential criteria for long aging. ▸ Cesanese is a low yield, late-ripening variety which lends itself to late harvesting in October as the vineyards are situated on relatively high, hilly slopes. ▸ Spontaneous fermentation for approximately 20 days, followed by a further 10-12 days of maceration on the skins to extract the very last traces of the tannins in which the skins and seeds of the Cesanese grape are particularly rich. ▸ Aged for about 5-6 months in cherry wood barrels.

Food pairingsExcellent with white meat, any kind of poultry such as chicken, duck confit, or Thanksgiving turkey preparations. Tomato-based dishes pair perfectly with Cesanese.
