“The 2023 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo opens with a vivid bouquet of yellow apples, incense, chamomile and a dusting of confectionary spice. It contrasts salty mineral tones, sour lime and Granny Smith tartness with juicy acidity to create a tense yet zesty performance on the palate. This leaves a citrusy concentration that puckers the cheeks as hints of sour melon fade. Masterfully done. ▸ Brilliant light yellow with green tint, this wine exhibits fresh aromas of apricot, grapefruit, jasmine and orange blossom. ▸ Crisp and clean on the palate with zippy flavours of green apple, anise, and almond. ▸ The Trebbiano Abruzzese grapes come from 75-year-old vines and are grown in mainly limestone with gravel-sandy subsoil. ▸ Hand harvested in mid-September, the wine comes from free run juice and goes through spontaneous fermented from indigenous yeast in stainless-steel tanks.
