Domaine Dirler-Cadé
Our Story
Jean Dirler is the fifth-generation winemaker of the Dirler winery that was established in 1871. In 1988, Jean united with the Cadé family winery, through marriage with Ludivine Cadé, to form Domaine Dirler-Cadé. That same year, they began to cultivate their vines organically while biodynamic practices were deployed to nurture a diverse, healthy, and sustainable ecosystem. Their entire 18 hectares is certified organic by the French Ministry of Agriculture and certified biodynamic by BIODYVIN. Dirler-Cadé is a substantial operation, 42% of which producing classified Grand Crus - Kessler, Kitterlé, Saering, and Spiegel - with Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Sylvaner, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, among others. In the winery, they use slow whole-cluster presses, spontaneous fermentations, and prolonged maturation on the lees to produce expressive, complex wines.
