Fabre en Provence
Our Story
The Fabre family has their roots in the wine trade in the Var region of Provence for many generations. The most recent evolution of Fabre dates back to 1920’s and 1930’s when Henri Fabre Sr. created ‘Fabre en Provence’, acquiring Château Clapièere and Château de l’Aumerade, respectively, thus becoming the largest producer in Côtes de Provence. Château de l’Aumerade is a 400-year-old vineyard with a rich history and ties to the royalties and the ruling class--until it was purchased by Henri Fabre who vowed to turn it into the best domain in Provence. In 1955, 80 ha of Aumerade’s vineyard received the Cru Classé classification.
