Our Story

Located in Cravant-les-Coteaux, 8 km East of Chinon, Frederic Sigonneau is the owner/winemaker of Domaine de L’R where L stands for Loire and the R stands for words such as Renaissance, Reviens-y (Advance), and Retour (back to the root), Revival, and at times it is also understood as the dynamism for Red Loire – Cab Franc, the emblematic red grape of the Loire. Focusing on Biodynamic farming, this Domaine is a viticulture in phase with the elements that compose it: Soil, water, and air. The management of the vineyard is done as naturally as possible by working the soil and protecting the wines from mildew and powdery mildew with sulfur and copper. The grapes are hand-picked and transported by crates. Frederic wants to produce a Cab Franc that is lively, fruity, full bodied, easy to drink, and in its original expression.
