Our Story

"I was born in the countryside, I left, and I came back, with more awareness and a clear idea: dedicate my life to the Sangiovese di Predappio." - Francesco Condello True to his words, Francesco and his family has dedicated themselves as keepers of a viticultural tradition dating back hundreds of years. In our modern times when everything is pushed to reach the market quickly, the Condellos continue to base their work on the calendar instead of the watch, respecting the natural timing of the Sangiovese grapes growing in the unique environment of Predappio. Their practice of organic farming is based on the philosophy of preserving the land and the environment. It is all about maintaining a healthy ecosystem not only at a macro level among animals, plants, and insects, but also at a micro level involving the indigenous yeasts and microbes. At the cellar, vinification is done with minimal intervention to produce a terrior-driver wine. The grapes are not crushed, and the fermentation tanks are filled by gravity. After the indigenous yeasts do their work, the juice is moved to age in neutral barrels. The wine is released only when the right balance, elegance, and structure are reached. Bottling is done with an incredibly low amount of added sulphur. Every year, more than a thousand bottles are held back as riserva and as testament of their vocation.
