Our Story

Nicolas Idiart, proprietor of Maison Idiart, is a very gifted wine maker. He grew up with a love of wine—a passion shared with his father and grandfather. He graduated from Blanquefort, a renowned school of oenology in Bordeaux, when he was only 19 years of age! He has worked in many vineyards, not only in France but also other parts of the world such as Australia and New Zealand. Now, in his mid-thirties, Nicolas strikes out on his own, applying the contemporary techniques that he has acquired over the years to produce high-quality, small-batch, artisan wines that truly express the terrior in which the vines are grown.
