Adegas Valmiñor
Our Story
Adegas Valmiñor is located in the Rías Baixas D.O. wine region situated in northwestern Spain along the Atlantic coastline. Wines from here have recently increased in popularity thanks to efforts of enterprising producers, Adegas Valmiñor among them, who have adopted modern winemaking techniques to showcase this region's signature grape, Albariño. Wines made from Albariño are typically crisp, fresh, and aromatic. There are five sub-areas in this D.O. Adegas Valmiñor is located in O Rosal, South of Galicia and on the border with Portugal. It is characterized by cool, moderate climate with high average rainfall. It is this micro-climate that allows the Albariño grape to retain the crisp, mouth-watering acidity so vital to the distinctive style of the wine. The finest Rías Baixas have intense aromatics, long, pleasant floral aftertaste, often further lifted by a slight fizz. Moreover, the area's granite soil gives the wine good minerality. Wines from this denomination must be at least 70% Albarino, the rest made up of Treixadura, Torrontes, Loureiro and Caino Blanco.
