Domaine Adrien Berlioz
Our Story
In 2006, Adrien Berlioz founded Cellier des Cray in Chignin, the wine capital of Savoy, continuing a family legacy rooted in viticulture. After just two harvests, his wines stood out for their sincerity, purity, and consistency. Since 2012, his 5-hectare estate has been certified organic and biodynamic by Ecocert, benefiting from Chignin’s cool, clay-limestone terroir with moraine pebbles. Rather than expanding, Berlioz focuses on quality, maintaining full control over every stage from vine to cellar. The vineyard consists of 13 distinct plots, each expressing a unique terroir through cuvées based on local grape varieties like Mondeuse, Jacquère, Altesse, Bergeron (Roussanne), and the rare Persan. In the cellar, whites are vinified reductively in stainless steel to preserve terroir purity, while reds undergo partial destemming and are aged in demi-muids from Jura legend, Jean-François Ganevat, with minimal sulfur use throughout.
