Our Story

Several unique attributes of Domaine de Capelanel are that it was established five generations ago in 1878 and it boasts some 70+ year-old Malbec vines grown on siderolythic soil that has a very high iron content. Here, on the 14 hectare estate, the fifth generation winemaker Sebastien Dauliac is breaking traditions and leaning into natural ways of making wine. His principle of minimal oak intervention includes the use of amphora. His ‘mystic cuvées’ are fresh and lively, with great finesse and minerality that represent the new Malbec.
